As a Systems Technician at Moneris, you'll bring technical expertise and a customer-focused approach to deliver an outstanding experience to our merchants. You will work with the operations team and focus on installing, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and replacing electronic devices at merchant sites in your assigned region. Location: You will be based in Toronto and will work onsite at our merchant's location.

Reporting Relationship: You will report to the Team Lead, Field Operations Cleon Roberts.

Posting Type: Replacement

Salary range: $44,000 - $60,000.

Total compensation may also include variable or discretionary incentive components, including but not limited to bonuses and commissions. Individual job offers are determined by various factors, including experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.

Your Moneris Career - What you'll do

  • Install, Troubleshoot, and service a wide range of electronic equipment and peripherals such as computers, printers, networks, cash registers, points-of-sale systems, security cameras as well as perform cabling installations and software updates as required.
  • Analyze problems and make recommendations to causes and corrective actions and always ensure that our merchants are satisfied with the issue resolution.
  • Install computers, printers, cash registers and points-of-sale systems and upgrade software.
  • Develop and maintain great relationships with our merchants by demonstrating professionalism at all times.Maintain tools, equipment, materials, the company vehicle and the general working evironment.
  • Work closely with team members to resolve merchant issues as well as share technical knowledge and field experience with other technicians.
  • Where required, safely perform work involving ladders, elevated equipment or working at heights in accordance with applicable training and safety requirements.

  • Ability to lift, carry and transport technical equipment and tools
  • Good organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities while travelling between merchant locations.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and handle small tools and equipment.
  • Post-secondary certificate in electronics, information technology or related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered a substitution.
  • A valid provincial driver's license.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a technical, client-facing role
  • Experience testing and solving issues relating to computing, network, or point of sale terminals (POS).Knowledge of computers, general networking concepts, internet usage, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Efficient and calm when dealing with situations ranging from routine to emergency.
  • Flexible for rotating schedules which includes evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays (schedules are always communicated in advance). Must also be available to work overnight shifts on installation projects.
