Field Service Technician

Are you an experienced Field Service Technician with a strong background in security systems and a passion for solving technical problems?

Join SNAP Account, a leading digital marketplace for the European haulage industry, and play a key role in delivering innovative security and revenue protection technology to truck parks and transport businesses across the UK and Europe.

This is a hands-on field-based role where no two days are the same. You’ll install, commission, service and repair a range of technologies, while working directly with customers to keep their systems operating safely and effectively.

You’ll be an important ambassador for SNAP, combining technical expertise with great customer service to deliver a first-time fix wherever possible.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll work across a variety of access, security and payment technologies, including:

• Installing, commissioning, servicing and fault-finding ANPR systems
• Servicing and repairing automated parking barriers
• Maintaining and repairing self-service payment systems
• Servicing and fault-finding IP and analogue CCTV systems
• Maintaining legacy CCTV systems across multiple manufacturers
• Maintaining IT networking equipment
• Installing and maintaining access control and intercom systems
• Installing and maintaining relevant customer signage
• Providing technical support and customer training
• Recording parts, equipment and stock accurately
• Maintaining your company vehicle, tools and equipment to a high standard
• Completing accurate service, incident and technical documentation
• Providing out-of-hours technical support as part of the call-out rota
• Supporting new technologies, products and services as SNAP continues to grow

You’ll also travel across the UK and Europe, including overnight stays where required.

You’ll be successful when you:

• Resolve faults correctly and achieve a high level of first-time fixes
• Keep return visits and customer downtime to a minimum
• Maintain systems safely and effectively, regardless of their age or technology
• Provide clear, professional technical support and customer training
• Build strong relationships with customers and internal teams
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs
• Follow all Health & Safety procedures, risk assessments and site requirements
• Represent SNAP professionally at every customer location

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone with:

• Proven experience working with security and access systems
• Strong technical knowledge and excellent problem-solving skills
• Experience servicing and fault-finding IP and analogue CCTV
• Experience with systems such as Dahua, Hikvision and iPro
• Experience with ANPR systems is desirable
• Experience with wired and wireless networking equipment
• Experience installing and terminating CAT5e/CAT6 cabling
• Fibre cabling experience is desirable
• IPAF 1B, 3A and 3B certification is desirable, but not essential
• A full, clean driving licence
• A valid passport allowing unrestricted travel across Europe
• Flexibility to travel throughout the UK and Europe and stay away overnight when required
