Job Title: Field Service Technician
Location: Fargo, North Dakota
Company: Interstate Power Systems
Pay Range: $30.00-$40.00/hour DOE

We're seeking experienced Field Service Technicians to be based out of our Fargo location and serve the greater Fargo area. You'll perform on-site diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on heavy-duty diesel trucks and trailers—no more being tied to the shop bench.

If you're a Diesel Mechanic/Technician with at least 3–5 years of light or heavy-duty diesel experience—especially with Freightliner, Detroit, Allison, Cummins, CAT, and/or MTU products—and you're ready to transition into a true Field Service role with a company truck, tools, and the freedom of the road, we want to hear from you!

Field Service Technician Job Duties:

• Responsible for repairing, maintaining diesel engines and diesel components used in various vehicles and diesel equipment.
• Accurately and efficiently diagnose complex diesel engine conditions and make necessary repairs.
• Communicate effectively with peers, foreman, and service team regarding those repairs.
• Quality control work performed to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
• Keep paperwork updated and handed in upon completion.
• Meet requirements for certifications.

Field Service Technician Requirements:

• Valid Driver's license (Bonus compensation for CDL holders)
• Must possess a good work ethic, a positive attitude, and be reliable.
• Must possess an excellent understanding of Detroit Diesel engines through the current GHG17 product.
• Experience with other diesel engine platforms such as Cummins, CAT, & International are a plus.
• Other mechanical skills desired but not essential: Hydraulics, Brakes & Suspension, Manual Transmissions, Drive Train, and Automatic Transmissions.

• Technical degree or certification a plus.

Diesel Mechanic Desired Skills/Qualities:

• Positive attitude and the ability to set goals and accomplish them.
• The desire to take advantage of certification opportunities to have the most updated product training.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills
