Field Service Technician – Industrial Automation

Home Base: Northeast US (Extensive Travel Required)

A growing North American industrial automation company is seeking a Field Service Technician to support customers across the U.S. and Canada. This position is hands-on and travel-focused, responsible for commissioning, troubleshooting, repairs, and onsite service of precision measurement and control systems used in manufacturing and plastics extrusion environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Commission new automation and measurement equipment at customer facilities
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and system‑level issues
• Perform system upgrades, calibrations, and preventative maintenance
• Provide onsite training, technical support, and customer guidance
• Document service activity, findings, and recommendations accurately
• Represent the company professionally in customer-facing environments

Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems
• Ability and willingness to travel approximately 75%+
• Comfortable working in industrial manufacturing environments
• Basic networking/Ethernet troubleshooting knowledge
• Strong communication skills and customer-focused mindset
• Previous field service or maintenance technician experience is a plus

Compensation and Benefits

• Base salary: $50,000–$75,000, depending on experience
