Purpose of the Role
The Field Service Technician ensures the reliable operation of marine wastewater and related technical systems by performing expert commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs onboard vessels and in shipyards. The role supports customers with technical guidance, high‑quality reporting, and professional representation while adhering to marine safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
What you’ll do
Commission, start up, troubleshoot, and maintain systems including MBRs, Sewage Treatment Plants, vacuum systems, pumps, and PLC/HMI controls
Diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and perform preventive maintenance
Test systems in line with IMO and manufacturer standards
Support and advise vessel crews, delivering basic training where needed
Complete clear service reports and escalate complex issues when required
Work safely in line with marine HSSE standards and procedures
What you bring
Technical qualification in marine, mechanical, electrical, automation, or similar
2+ years’ experience in field service, marine systems, wastewater, or industrial automation
Strong mechanical/electrical troubleshooting skills and ability to read technical drawings
Experience with PLC/HMI and instrumentation is an advantage
Self-sufficient, customer-focused, and comfortable working in demanding environments
Other requirements
Willingness to travel extensively and work onboard vessels
Valid passport and medical fitness for offshore work
Driving licence (Category B)
