Field Service Tech – Milwaukee, WI
Travel is 80-90%, weekly and constant. Generally, home on weekends.
Contribute to installing equipment, investigate and resolve customer reports of technical problems with equipment, and eliminate future operational or service difficulties by performing the following duties
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Investigate and resolve customer reports of technical problems with equipment and perform routine repairs.
Partner with customers to ensure excellent communication and service.
Responsible to insure all new or modified installations of equipment have been completed to ensure full functionality according to applicable industry standards, company standards, and customer specifications.
Review performance reports and documentation from customers and inspect malfunctioning or damaged equipment to determine nature and scope of problem.
Analyze inspection reports to determine source of problems and make recommendations for repair, replacement, or other corrective action.
Coordinates problem resolutions with Field Service, Engineering, and other inter-company departments to expedite repairs.
Maintains records of reports. Responsible for submitting reports to the Field Service Manager and the Quality Department.
Troubleshoots, dismantles, and reassembles machines, equipment, and their subassemblies according to customers' needs following drawings and other written and verbal specifications; plans assembly procedures, following specifications and using knowledge gained by experience.
Drills, taps, or reams holes, aligns components, and bolts, screws, or rivets them together using hand tools or portable power tools; installs moving parts, such as shafts, levers, fan blades, bearings, and work them to test free movement; bends and installs pipe for lubricating systems.
Aligns and meshes gears in gearbox to assemble system of gears including drive motors and fan shafts alignment.
Conducts preventative maintenance at customer facilities.
Regular attendance, ability to arrive at work punctually, ability to work on–site, ability to work overtime.
Ability to work cooperatively with others, ability to deal respectfully with the public, customers, vendors, other employees, managers, and executive management.
Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ability to interchange with others in the department, Ability to work at heights exceeding 50 feet, Ability to operate various mobile elevating work platforms.
Strict Adherence to Kelvion and Customer's Safety Requirements - e.g., Personal Protective Equipment,
Job Safety Analysis, Any and all paperwork and reporting for completing assigned tasks on customer's site, etc.
All other duties assigned.
REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES)
Personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
Intermediate Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Intermediate Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Must be able to obtain passport and major credit card (for car rental), ability to attend and pass safety orientation exams at customer locations.
Must also be able to obtain industry required certifications, such as TWIC, to gain entry access to customer locations.
Must be able to obtain passport and major credit card (for car rental), ability to attend and pass safety orientation exams at customer locations.
Must be able to travel 70% of time
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)
Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and/or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be able to obtain passport and major credit card (for car rental), ability to attend and pass safety orientation exams at customer locations.
Must also be able to obtain industry required certifications, such as TWIC, to gain entry access to customer locations.
