Job Description

The Field Service Technician repairs electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and software problems, and prepares clear technical reports while planning repair tasks. The technician performs full inspections, uses machining tools such as painting, lathe, drilling, and welding, and applies NDT tests, lifting, and transport methods. Knowledge of assembly, maintenance, repair, and operation of Manitowoc cranes is required, as well as preparing reliable lists of parts and services for refurbishment. The role demands polite behavior with customers under pressure, proactive attitude, ability to lead small teams, and skill in sharing knowledge. The technician helps reduce costs by using supplies and parts wisely, follows quality, environmental, safety, and health policies, and participates in process improvement together with other departments.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to perform electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and software repairs.
  • Skill to prepare clear and grounded technical reports.
  • Knowledge of machining tools (painting, lathe, drilling, welding).
  • Experience with NDT tests, lifting and transport methods.
  • Ability to assemble, maintain, repair, and operate cranes.
  • Skill to plan tasks and organize repair activities.
  • Ability to build reliable parts and service lists.

  • Required Education and Experience:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required in Maintenance, Electromechanics, or similar field.
  • Solid background (5–8 years) in crane maintenance, heavy equipment repair, or mechanical refurbishment.
  • English language desirable.

Work Environment:

  • Work performed in industrial and outdoor environments, including customer sites.
  • Frequent travel required, both national and international.
  • Exposure to noise, dust, and heavy machinery.
  • Work may involve standing, climbing, and bending for extended periods.
  • Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in technical and operational areas.
  • Must comply with occupational safety, health, and environmental standards.
  • Travel Required: (Percentage 0-100)
  • Percentage: 50–80% (depending on service demands).
  • Frequent national and international travel to customer sites.
  • Ability to stay away from home for extended periods when required.
  • Flexibility to adapt to different work environments and schedules
  • Other Duties:
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
  • Support other departments when required to ensure service continuity.
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to update technical knowledge.
  • Assist in process improvement initiatives beyond core responsibilities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records as requested.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and operational needs.
