Field Service Supervisor – Offshore/Aberdeen

Location: District Based (UK)

We are seeking a Field Service Supervisor – Offshore / Aberdeen, to lead and coordinate offshore field operations, ensuring safe, high-quality, and commercially effective execution of scopes. This is a hands-on leadership role combining operational supervision, job ownership, customer communications, and team development.

While offshore supervision is a key focus, offshore travel frequency will vary depending on operational demand. This may average 1–2 trips per month, with some months having no offshore activity and others requiring up to four trips. Flexibility is essential on both sides. During quieter offshore periods, there may be an expectation to deploy in a technician capacity to support operational delivery and customer needs.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Lead and manage a small team of Field Technicians, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Take ownership of jobs from enquiry through to completion, including PO verification, planning & customer liaison, cost control, and margin management.
  • Travel offshore to conduct site surveys, supervise scopes, and support delivery on the tools where required.
  • Act as the central communication link between field teams, clients, workforce planning, and internal departments.
  • Enforce and champion safety standards, ensuring adherence to QA procedures, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Carry out site safety visits and audits, ensuring completion of all safety and quality documentation (including NCR reporting and investigations).
  • Prepare, organise, and distribute detailed work packs, including method statements and risk assessments.
  • Monitor service quality and team performance, gathering client feedback and driving continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical input and support client relationships offshore and on-site.
  • Resolve operational challenges quickly to minimise disruption.
  • Support training and development initiatives, identifying skills gaps and assisting with competency improvement plans.
  • Prepare and maintain operational performance reports.
  • Monitor job costs and operational spend to ensure commercially sound delivery.
  • Support Operations Manager activities during holiday cover including Revenue Forecasting

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Extensive experience in field service operations or a related industrial environment.
  • Highly experienced in at least one of the following specialist services is essential:
  • Leak Sealing
  • Hot Tapping or other Mechanical line intervention techniques
  • Composite Repair
  • On-site Machining
  • Experience supporting offshore operations.
  • Strong leadership and team management capability.
  • Excellent planning, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to manage job costs and margins.
  • Proven knowledge of safety standards and industry regulations.
  • Experience preparing work packs and technical documentation.
  • Ability to adapt to changing operational demands.
  • Offshore survival certification and medical fitness
  • Full UK driving licence.

Working Conditions:

Hybrid- mix of office, home-based planning and frequent travel to field and offshore locations. Offshore travel will fluctuate based on customer demands

Some months may require no offshore travel; others may involve multiple deployments.
During periods of reduced offshore activity, flexibility to support operations in a technician capacity may be required.
Weekend and extended hours may be necessary in line with business demands.
Work on customer sites, including offshore installations, often in challenging environments.

Participation in Weekend ‘On call’ rotation once settled and comfortable in the role.
