Position Summary

We are seeking a Field Service Shop & Tooling Manager to work out of our Milwaukee Service Center in West Allis, WI. The Field Service Shop & Tooling Manager is responsible for the management, readiness, inventory control, storage, transportation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of field service tooling used to support Generator Field Services and Mechanical Field Services projects. This position serves as the primary coordinator for electrical test equipment, generator toolkits, turbine repair toolkits, specialty tooling, calibrated equipment, and related field service assets.

Working closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, Field Service Engineers, Technical Advisors, Specialists, and field personnel, the Field Service Tooling Manager ensures all required tooling, materials, consumables, and equipment are available, functional, compliant, and properly deployed to support safe and efficient project execution. The position also provides administrative support through purchasing activities, supplier coordination, inventory management, transportation logistics, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, productivity, and field execution effectiveness.

Essential Duties

• Manage the inventory, storage, maintenance, calibration, transportation, and deployment of Generator Field Service and Mechanical Field Service tooling and equipment.
• Maintain accountability and inventory records for electrical test equipment, generator repair toolkits, turbine repair toolkits, specialty tooling, calibrated instruments, and associated field assets.
• Coordinate tooling requirements with Project Managers, Site Managers, and designated field leads to ensure equipment availability and project readiness.
• Schedule, track, and coordinate shipping and transportation of tooling, materials, and equipment between company facilities, storage locations, vendors, and project sites.
• Load, unload, inspect, inventory, and stage tooling, equipment, and materials for mobilization and demobilization activities.
• Maintain inventory control systems and ensure tooling, materials, and consumables are accurately tracked and documented.
• Inspect received materials, tooling, and equipment for condition, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
• Ensure calibrated equipment remains compliant with calibration requirements and coordinate calibration services as necessary.
• Maintain tooling readiness by coordinating repairs, maintenance, replenishment, replacement, and lifecycle management activities.
• Review project requirements and develop tooling plans to support safe and efficient execution of outage, maintenance, repair, and service projects.
• Work with field personnel to continuously improve toolkits, tooling processes, storage methods, transportation methods, and field service productivity.
• Support development and implementation of tooling innovations, specialty tooling solutions, and process improvements.
• Coordinate purchase requisitions, purchase orders, vendor relationships, and supplier communications related to tooling, materials, consumables, and equipment.
• Assist with budgeting, cost tracking, inventory reporting, and tooling utilization reporting.
• Ensure tooling storage areas, workspaces, warehouses, and support facilities remain organized, secure, and compliant with company requirements.
• Coordinate maintenance and inspection activities for forklifts, trailers, site vehicles, and other equipment supporting tooling operations.
• Support travel coordination, rental equipment administration, safety training logistics, vendor setup, and other administrative functions as assigned.
• Maintain accurate records including inventory reports, calibration records, shipping documentation, purchase records, and project support documentation.
• Promote and support safe work practices and compliance with all company, customer, and regulatory requirements.

Education and Required Experience

• Bachelors Degree or equivalent required.
• Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
• 4-8 years of experience in tooling management, warehouse operations, inventory control, field service support, logistics, maintenance operations, industrial operations, construction support, or related technical fields.
• Experience with power generation, turbine maintenance, generator maintenance, industrial maintenance, manufacturing, construction, or field service organizations preferred.
• Experience supporting calibration programs, inventory systems, shipping logistics, purchasing activities, or material management functions is beneficial.

Certifications and Licenses

• Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain.
• Overhead crane qualification preferred or ability to obtain.
• OSHA 10 preferred.
• Respirator Fit Test as required.
• Additional company and customer-required training and certifications as assigned

• Up to 25% as needed

Work Environment

Work performed in warehouse, shop, office, industrial, and field service environments. Occasional exposure to regulated industrial materials and environments requiring specialized

safety procedures, training, and personal protective equipment. Work performed in varying environmental conditions, including temperature extremes, elevations, and industrial settings. Occasional lifting, carrying, loading, unloading, staging, and movement of tooling, equipment, and materials.
