The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Field Service Technician , you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Leads safe, compliant, and high-quality installation, servicing, and maintenance of medical devices across customer sites, ensuring adherence to company procedures, regulatory requirements, and Irish health & safety standards.
Implements preventative maintenance schedules, corrective actions, and service improvements to optimise equipment performance, minimise downtime, and enhance customer satisfaction.
Determines root cause of technical faults through structured troubleshooting, applying technical expertise and judgement to resolve issues efficiently and escalate where required.
Supports customers and internal stakeholders by providing technical guidance, usage advice, and accurate service documentation, while maintaining strong relationships with clinical staff, procurement teams, and service coordination teams.
Willingness to be on-call, participating in an on-call rota to support urgent customer needs and ensure continuity of critical healthcare services (this will be discussed further to confirm interest and availability).
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED from AND ….. relevant job-related experience in a field service, engineering, or technical environment supporting electro-mechanical equipment
AND
In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:
Experience in servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electro-mechanical or medical device equipment in a customer-facing environment
Experience working within a regulated environment (e.g. healthcare, ISO standards, or similar) with strong adherence to safety and compliance procedures
Proven ability to diagnose faults, perform corrective maintenance, and complete preventative maintenance to a high standard
Strong IT skills with experience in service management systems, mobile working tools, and accurate documentation practices
Current, valid Driver’s License.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution
Experience servicing medical devices or supporting healthcare equipment in a private, public, government or military environment
Skills include strong problem-solving, customer focus, effective communication, time management, and the ability to work independently in a field-based role while managing competing priorities
Work location:
Onsite - Dublin, Citywest Service Center and field-based at customer locations
Travel: May include up to 40%[domestic]
Company Vehicle
This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
