Job Description

WHAT YOU OWN

Aftermarket revenue and margin

  • Carry an annual service and parts revenue target, and a gross margin target, reported separately from boat margin
  • Sell and renew service agreements across the installed base, including boats delivered before the current ownership structure, and grow the attachment rate
  • Quote and close service, upgrade, and refit work using the existing rate card and parts pricing
  • Track technician utilisation and billable hours, and manage capacity against demand

Field service delivery

  • Plan and dispatch technicians for commissioning, warranty work, scheduled service, and emergency callouts
  • Act as escalation point across the whole boat: propulsion, batteries and BMS, charging, steering and controls, hull and deck systems, electronics and infotainment
  • Own first-time fix rate, mean time to repair, and response time, and report them monthly
  • Coordinate with production and sales on handover and delivery of new boats

Warranty and quality feedback

  • Decision authority on warranty claims sits with this role and is not delegated to sales
  • Pursue supplier cost recovery on component failures
  • Feed field failure data to R&D on a fixed cadence, with root cause analysis on recurring faults

Team and capability

  • Lead, develop, and grow the technician team, including certification and upskilling
  • Maintain and extend service documentation, fault trees, and safety procedures
  • Own high-voltage safety discipline on site and in the field, with no exceptions
  • Build and manage the dealer and partner service network as coverage expands

REQUIREMENTS

  • 8+ years in marine, automotive EV, or industrial electrical field service, including team leadership
  • Hands-on competence with high-voltage battery systems, electric motors, inverters, chargers, and marine electrical systems. Able to read a wiring diagram, interpret BMS diagnostics, and lead a root cause review without external help
  • Demonstrated commercial ownership: quoting, pricing discipline, service contract sales, or aftermarket P&L responsibility
  • Working knowledge of Directive 2013/53/EU (RCD) and relevant ISO standards for electric propulsion and marine electrical systems. ABYC familiarity is an advantage for the North American market
  • Lithium-ion battery safety and charging infrastructure experience
  • Fluent Swedish and English
  • Driving licence. BE (car with trailer) is an advantage. Boat handling experience preferred
  • Willingness to travel and occasional on-call availability

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work on and around boats, docks, and marinas in varying weather
  • Lifting up to 25 kg and working in confined battery and machinery compartments

FIRST TWELVE MONTHS, WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • Service agreement attachment rate on the active installed base at target
  • Aftermarket revenue and gross margin delivered, reported separately from boat sales
  • First-time fix rate and mean time to repair measured, baselined, and improving
  • Both technicians able to close any standard job unsupervised, evidenced not assumed
  • Field failure data reaching R&D monthly, with at least one product change traceable to it
