
The Field Service Lead, Generators oversees field operations for industrial generator systems, providing advanced technical expertise, managing service teams, and ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction. This role combines hands-on field work with leadership responsibilities, including mentoring, scheduling, and coordinating field technicians to deliver safe, reliable, and high-quality service.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and coordinate installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and repair of generator systems across multiple customer sites.
Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and operational issues, performing advanced troubleshooting and corrective actions.
Conduct inspections and load bank tests to verify system performance, electrical output, and efficiency.
Serve as the primary technical resource for field technicians, providing guidance, mentorship, and training.
Plan, assign, and monitor daily field activities to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards.
Collaborate with customers, project managers, and engineering teams to resolve escalated service issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
Maintain accurate service records, including work performed, parts used, and recommendations for future maintenance.
Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, electrical codes, and industry regulations.
Participate in on-call rotations and provide leadership during emergency service situations.
Identify opportunities for process, equipment, and training improvements to enhance team performance and service quality.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred.
7+ years of experience in generator service or related electrical/mechanical field, including 2+ years in a lead or supervisory role.
Advanced knowledge of generator systems, electrical controls, and mechanical components.
Proficiency with diagnostic tools, meters, test equipment, schematics, and technical manuals.
Strong understanding of electrical codes, OSHA, NFPA standards, and industry best practices.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer sites as required.
Relevant certifications (OSHA, NFPA, ASE, or manufacturer-specific training) preferred.
Ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work in various environments including outdoor, industrial, and confined spaces.

7+ years of experience in generator service or related electrical/mechanical field, including 2+ years in a lead or supervisory role.
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred.

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer sites as required.
