As a Field Service Engineer, you will be focused on providing technical advice to customers including commissioning, installing, and testing of products/equipment.

You will be responsible for carrying out installation, emergency repair, preventive maintenance, performing retrofits and upgrades on Alcon surgical equipment, maximizing customer satisfaction by providing the highest level of service.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Identifying and correcting more complex problems associated with start-up
  • Researching, evaluating, and recommending new products or equipment upgrades that will meet customer needs
  • Developing on-going relationships with customers to secure future business
  • Resolving/troubleshooting implementation problems and/or training customers on the features of the equipment they have purchased
  • Completing preventative maintenance routine as scheduled and per contract conditions, as well as emergency calls
  • Testing repaired instruments in all operating modes and demonstrates that repaired instruments operate at Alcon’s specifications
  • Minimizing instrument failure call back
  • Installing retrofits and instructing customers of resultant benefits and changes
  • Ensuring a high level of communication with customers, sales force, Clinical Applications and operations within the operating region, to ensure customer needs are rapidly addressed
  • Communicating equipment problems, quality issues and customer concerns to the appropriate in-house personal within the established guidelines
  • Consulting with local and international management on chronic or unusual problems
  • Being responsible for controlling expenses within budgeted guidelines
  • Providing commercial offers to customers regarding technical services portfolio
  • Managing and improving technical service contract penetration in territory assigned to
  • Supporting spare parts management, including the timely return of strategic spare part cores.
  • Attaining inventory turn goals for the area/region
  • Ensuring all resources (parts, tools etc.) are available for successful customer call completion.
  • Ensuring reporting and CRM system management
  • Providing feedback to the sales force and management team and inform about any commercial opportunity

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • Fluency in Italian and English (verbal and written)
  • Bachelors’ or Masters’ Degree in Telecommunications, Electronics or Industrial Engineering.
  • Knowledge/ experience in networking or telecommunications
  • Knowledge in local area networking and communications
  • Knowledge in DICOM Standard and Ris/Pacs systems as a plus
  • Similar experience would be a strong advantage
  • Master´s degree in Biomedical Engineering as a plus
  • Driving License
