
Field Service Engineer - Parcels

TheField Service Support Engineer (FSE) is a hybrid role within the Parcel Services team, combining hands-on field service support with technical subject matterexpertisebased out of the Marietta, GA headquarters. This roleis responsible forensuring high system uptime, customer satisfaction, and technical excellence across Vanderlande’s installed parcel systems.
Essential Functions
The role is split between:
Field Operations (50%)– preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance support, including supervision of small projects and customer launch activities.
Technical Support & SME Functions (50%)– advanced troubleshooting, escalation support, technical training, and subject matter expertise
This position requires a highly skilled electro-mechanical professional with strong troubleshooting capabilities and a customer-focused mindset.
Field Service & Customer Support (50%)
Perform preventive maintenance visits and system inspections at customer sites on a scheduled basis.
Execute corrective maintenance activities, ensuringtimelyresolution within defined service windows.
Respond to emergency service calls with minimal notice to restore operational continuity.
Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, andcontrols-related issues on parcel handling systems.
Act as a Field Supervisor for small RMR (Repair, Maintenance, Retrofit) projects, including:
Coordinating on-site activities
Managing subcontractors and site safety
Ensuring quality andtimelydelivery
Maintain clear documentation of service activities, findings, and recommendations.
Build strong customer relationships through professional on-site engagement.
Technical Support & SME Function (50%)
Provide 2nd and 3rd line technical support for service desk escalations and customer cases.
Lead or support complex troubleshooting and root cause analysis activities remotely or on-site.
Handle technical service requests, including system optimization, upgrades, and modifications.
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for parcel systems within the organization.
Deliver technical training programs:
At the Innovation Center in Marietta
On-site at customer facilities
Support internal teams (service, engineering, sales) with technicalexpertiseand best practices.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications & Experience:
Associate’sorBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 3–5 years of experience supporting electromechanical or material handling systems.
Strong knowledge of:
Electrical systems (PLCs, controls, sensors, drives)
Mechanical systems (conveyors, motors, assemblies)
Troubleshooting methodologies
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments.
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years supporting automated material handling or parcel systems.
Experience in parcel,logistics, or material handling industries.
Familiarity with Siemens or Allen-Bradley PLC diagnostics.
Experience supervising field projects or delivering technical training.

Travel Requirements
Travelup to 50% across North America isrequired, including short-notice assignments and customer site support. Between assignments, the role will be based out of Vanderlande’s North America headquarters in Marietta, GA.
Physical Requirements
Ability to climb a 2-story ladder.
Ability to walk a mile in 20 minutes.
Ability tolift upto 30 lbs.
Comfortable working in office, factory, and construction environments.
