We’re looking for a Field Service Engineer (m/f/x) to join us in Romania, supporting customers across Romania and, where required, the Southeast Europe (SEE) region.

As part of our Service Team, you will provide expert technical support to customers, ensuring ZEISS Medical devices and other ZEISS equipment are installed, maintained and repaired to a high standard.

Your Role

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical service and support to ZEISS customers. You will work directly with customers to install, maintain and repair equipment, troubleshoot technical issues and provide training, while ensuring customer requirements and service procedures are met.

The role of Field Service Engineer will involve:

  • Installing, repairing and maintaining ZEISS Medical devices and other ZEISS equipment.
  • Diagnosing and resolving technical issues using a structured and solution-oriented approach.
  • Providing technical training and guidance to customers.
  • Preparing service contract offers and supporting repair quotation calculations.
  • Managing customer requirements in line with relevant service procedures while supporting service profitability targets.
  • Travelling extensively across Romania and, where required, the wider SEE region to support customers.

Your Experience

  • Degree from a technical university or equivalent technical education, preferably in fine mechanics, mechatronics or electronics.
  • Minimum of 3 years' professional experience servicing technically complex instruments or equipment.
  • Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong customer-focused approach.
  • Very good command of English.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively, primarily within Romania and occasionally across the SEE region.

It would be desirable if you had:

  • Previous experience working with medical, optical or other technically complex equipment.
  • Experience providing technical training or support directly to customers.
  • Commercial awareness, including experience with service contracts or repair quotations.

Role Details

Location: Romania, with extensive travel across Romania and occasional travel within the Southeast Europe region.

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time.
