We're looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer (L2) to join our Sydney Airport team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys troubleshooting complex equipment, solving technical problems, and working directly with customers in a fast-paced operational environment.

You'll be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing advanced X-ray and trace detection systems while ensuring high levels of equipment availability and customer satisfaction.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Troubleshoot, service, maintain and repair X-ray and trace detection equipment
  • Complete preventative maintenance activities in line with service agreements and schedules
  • Respond to breakdowns and corrective maintenance requests within KPI commitments
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic faults using multimeters, software tools and diagnostic equipment
  • Replace motors, belts, rollers, X-ray generators and other machine components
  • Perform inspections, cleaning, repairs and component replacement within equipment
  • Support installation and commissioning of new systems
  • Complete service documentation, reports and maintenance records accurately
  • Manage spare parts consumption and inventory transactions
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and recommend equipment enhancements
  • Support and mentor junior engineers and new team members
  • Maintain safe work practices and contribute to a strong safety culture
  • Work collaboratively with customers, contractors and internal stakeholders

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Certificate III Trade Qualification or Degree in:
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Electronic Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Mechatronics
    • IT or related discipline
  • 3+ years' experience in a field service, maintenance, manufacturing, automation or technical support environment
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical or electronic equipment
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools and testing equipment
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Provisional or unrestricted driver's licence
  • Ability to obtain Airport Security Identification Card (ASIC) and other relevant clearances
