Field Service Engineer (FSE) I provide on-site repair and preventative maintenance services to customers and Integra owned ENT & Surgical equipment. In addition, the FSE will provide team support and coverage in other areas, as well as back-up duties as required. The FSE applies proven troubleshooting processes and methods to diagnose and resolve technical issues on Integra manufactured medical equipment. The FSE must effectively and efficiently manage their time pertaining to the following core work activities including service-call scheduling, parts inventory, and daily administrative responsibilities with minimal supervision. Additional responsibilities include customer relationship management, written documentation and Oracle entry of service activities, effective interaction and communication with internal staff, manufacturing, and sales. Represent Integra in a positive, professional manner always. Travel up to 85% is required throughout the designated geographic area.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide repair and preventative maintenance service on Integra manufactured equipment.
  • Provide repair evaluations and estimates as required.
  • Become and remain proficient in all user guides, service manuals, company procedures and work instructions.
  • Work closely with field sales teams to understand and communicate customer service needs, technical information, and other information as requested.
  • Provide technical service and support to field sales teams and customers.
  • Request parts as needed and ensure the return of defective and/or unused spare parts.
  • Always apply Good Documentation Practices to all Oracle service record entries and associated documents.
  • Always present a professional image.
  • Liaise with other departments/personnel as required.

Education and Experience

  • Min 2-year degree in electronics engineering, electronics technology, Biomedical equipment repair, 2-year Biomedical Certification or a closely related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least 2-5 years experience in a Field Service, medical equipment repair or related experience.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience will include customer contact, hands-on electronic equipment installation, repair, services, and technician training.
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal & written.
  • Solid computer skills; Oracle skills a plus
  • Experience in the medical field a plus

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge in medical device repair and service of electronic equipment.
  • Knowledge in ESD principles and practices
  • Working knowledge of Quality System Regulations
  • Knowledge of ISO standards, knowledge of reading and interpreting schematics and writing diagrams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, self-motivated & team player.
  • Ability to deal effectively with multiple activity requests and emergencies.
  • Ability to effectively maintain professional, proactive customer relationships, ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations and decision making, ability to follow or give verbal and written instructions.

Material, Tools and Equipment Used

Customary tools of electronic equipment and instrument service and repair trades such as oscilloscopes, timers/counters, signal analyzers, digital multi-meters, etc. Able to use Personal computers use standard Microsoft applications, 10-Key calculator, telephone, copy/fax machine, etc.

Salary Pay Range:

$71,000.00 - $98,000.00 USD Salary
