DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Field Service Engineer, GBA, located in Middle Xian Lie Road, Guangzhou, Guangdong, China

The Field Service Engineeris responsible forproviding onsite service, maintenance, and technical support for DPS robotics systems and related digital platforms.

This role ensures high system uptime, regulatory compliance, customer satisfaction, and close collaboration with Sales, Clinical, andTechnicalteams to support the growth of the DPS Robotics business.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Service & Support

  • Perform installation, commissioning, and validation of DPS robotics systems andassociatedhardware/software at customer sites.

  • Execute preventive maintenance, corrective service calls, updates, retrofits, and upgradesin accordance withservice standards and technical documentation.

  • Implement all Field Change Notices (FCNs), software updates, and system enhancements for installed robotics platforms.

  • Troubleshoot complexelectromechanical, robotic, software, andsystemintegrationissues in hospital and laboratory environments.

Customer & Clinical Support

  • Provide technical and logistical support to DPS Sales, Clinical Application, and Marketing teams during system installations, evaluations, and customer demonstrations.

  • Deliverinservicingand technical training to customer Clinical Engineering teams, biomedical engineers, and hospital technicians.

  • Act as a trusted technical interface with customers to ensure high satisfaction andlongtermsystem performance.

Service Operations

  • Manage all service activities within the assigned territory, including planning, scheduling, and execution of service visits ina timelyandcostefficientmanner.

  • Maintain responsibility for service tools, spare parts, service inventory, and calibration equipment.

Quality, Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Support complaint handling, investigation, and documentation in compliance with company Quality Management System (QMS) and local regulations.

  • Provide structured input to management on customer feedback, system reliability, product performance, and service process improvement opportunities.

  • Proactivelyidentifyopportunities to promote and sell service contracts, upgrades, andvalueaddedservice offerings.

  • Communicatebusinessrelatedissues, risks, or opportunities to theappropriate managementlevelin a timely manner

Qualifications

Education

  • AssociatesorBachelors degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Automation, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.

Experience

  • 5+ years of field service experience supporting complex medical devices, robotics systems, orhighendcapital equipment.

  • Prior experience in robotics, surgical systems, automation, or digitally enabled platforms is strongly preferred.

Core Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of medical device servicing regulations and quality system requirements.

  • Solid understanding ofelectromechanicalsystems, robotics, software-controlled equipment, and system troubleshooting methodologies.

  • Excellent customer-facing skills, with the ability tooperateindependently inhighpressureclinical environments.

  • Strong organizational, documentation, andtimemanagementcapabilities.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and service management systems.

  • Fluent in Mandarin and English, both written and spoken, with the ability to prepare technical service reports and communicate with global teams.

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes.
