We’re looking for a Field Service Engineer (m/f/x) to join us in Inđija, Serbia, with travel from Monday to Friday across Serbia and neighbouring countries within the SEE region.

You will join the Hardware Services team within our Industrial Metrology Department, supporting customers through expert technical service and ensuring the reliable operation of our high-precision coordinate measuring machines and Industrial Quality & Research (IQS) portfolio.

Your Role

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be the face of ZEISS at the customer’s site. You will be responsible for the technical integrity and performance of our high-precision coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and IQS portfolio. Your mission will be to ensure maximum machine uptime and customer satisfaction through expert installation, maintenance, technical upgrades and complex problem-solving.

The role of Field Service Engineer (m/f/x) will involve:

  • Independently performing installations, preventative maintenance, repairs and relocations of high-precision measuring systems.
  • Conducting high-accuracy measurements and performance tests using state-of-the-art diagnostic and measurement tools.
  • Implementing modernisations and technical modifications to our existing fleet of devices.
  • Developing and executing effective technical solutions for complex customer requirements.
  • Providing professional initial instruction and training to customers on device functionality and operation, ensuring a seamless start-up.
  • Acting as a trusted technical representative of ZEISS at customer sites and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

Your Experience

  • A solid technical background in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Precision Engineering or a comparable qualification. A university degree is not mandatory.
  • Initial professional experience in technical field service is advantageous.
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills and a high level of precision in your work.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly to different stakeholders.
  • Fluent Serbian and English language skills, both written and spoken.

It would be desirable if you had:

  • Previous experience working with industrial measuring systems, coordinate measuring machines or similar technical equipment.
  • Experience in customer-facing technical service or field engineering.
  • Familiarity with SAP-ERP and SAP-CRM systems.

You bring flexibility, innovation, independence and a high level of precision to your work. You have a strong customer orientation, a structured approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently while being part of a supportive team.

A valid Category B driving licence is required. Willingness to work flexible hours and to travel 100% from Monday to Friday is essential, including potential overnight stays within Serbia and neighbouring countries in the SEE region.

Working Conditions: Field-based role with 100% travel, Monday to Friday, across Serbia and neighbouring countries within the SEE region. Overnight stays may be required.

Driving Licence: Valid Category B driving licence required.
