With sustained investment, an expanding project portfolio and a commitment to operational excellence, the business is strengthening its engineering team with an additional Hoist Engineer

This is a hands‑on, customer‑facing field role focused on the safe installation, servicing and maintenance of both inclined and vertical hoisting equipment used widely within construction settings. You’ll join a close, experienced engineering team and play a key part in ensuring clients can move materials safely and efficiently at height.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Installing, maintaining and repairing a variety of rental hoist systems, including vertical and inclined models.
  • Working predominantly along the M62 corridor, with wider coverage across the North West and Yorkshire.
  • Taking on occasional nationwide assignments, including some overnight travel when required.
  • Representing the company as a key technical contact, delivering excellent service on every site.
  • Using digital tablet systems to complete job sheets, compliance notes and site documentation.
  • Reporting to the Irlam depot each morning before heading out to customer locations.

Working Environment

  • A stable and established SME with a strong technical reputation in the hoist‑hire market.
  • You’ll join a team of six skilled engineers with deep sector knowledge.
  • A progressive culture where operational improvement and safety sit at the heart of decision‑making.
  • Clear reporting lines into the Engineering Manager.
  • A supportive, practical team who pride themselves on quality, collaboration and service delivery.

About You

We’re looking for a practical engineer who enjoys variety, autonomy and problem‑solving in the field.

You’ll bring:

  • Hands‑on experience in mechanical, electrical, plant or site‑based engineering environments.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical awareness.
  • Confidence working at height and in physically demanding settings.
  • A proactive, customer‑focused approach with strong problem‑solving ability.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a wider team.
  • Full UK driving licence (Trailer licence an advantage but not essential).
  • CSCS card or NVQ Level 2/3 in Plant Installations desirable but not required.

You’ll fit in if you’re:

  • Practical, safety‑minded and solutions‑oriented.
  • Comfortable working both solo and within a small team.
  • Reliable, hands‑on, and motivated by delivering high‑quality engineering work.

Training & Development

  • Ongoing, hands‑on training from an experienced engineering team.
  • Exposure to specialist hoisting systems and advanced lifting technologies.
  • Genuine opportunities for progression as the business continues its growth trajectory.
