Job Title: Field Service Engineer

Reporting to: Service Manager

Location: Greece (Hybrid)

Clarke Energy is multinational specialist in gas and diesel engine-based power plants for energy efficient and renewable power generation. Clarke Energy Hellas is the authorised distributor and service provider for INNIO’ s Jenbacher gas engines in Greece. Our capabilities range from the supply of a gas-fuelled power generation engine, through to the turnkey installation of a multi-engine power plant. Clarke Energy’s ethos is one of aftersales support, delivering high levels of equipment availability through the development of a strong local service presence with in-country parts supply.

We are currently seeking for a highly motivated and experienced Field Service Engineer to join our team in Greece. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing on-site maintenance, repairs of Jenbacher gas engines and related equipment. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical engineering and will be able to diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical issues in a timely and efficient manner.

Majority of time spent

Scheduled maintenance-fault finding-troubleshooting

Responsibilities.

Deliver an efficient and cost-effective service to customers, to ensure that:

• maximum availability of gas engines and related balance of plant is achieved through fast response trouble shooting and fault rectification.
• scheduled maintenance is carried out to the required standard in order to avoid unnecessary replacement of parts and engine unavailability.
• out of hours callouts are responded to in a timely manner.
• oil samples are taken, labelled and despatched to the laboratory in accordance with agreed standards and procedures.

• parts are selected, ordered and used correctly, with any parts that prove unnecessary being returned to store in order to keep wastage to an absolute minimum.
• van stock in maintained in good condition, accurately booking parts out as they are used and reporting actual shortfalls to the Area Service Manager.
• Ensure that liaison and communication with Area Service Manager, customers and subcontractors on site is maintained at all times.
• Document all site visits and complete service reports in accordance with agreed quality standards and timescales.
• Protect and develop the industry standing of Clarke Energy by:

• building and maintaining positive relationships with customers, based on consistently professional dealings and attitude.
• maintaining a high level of site house- keeping and presentation.
• ensuring that company supplied equipment is well maintained and kept at a high standard of cleanliness.
• maintaining tools in a good and safe working order and calibrated as required
• Support the Area Service Manager by supervising and training Apprentices and new employees as required.
• Follow and adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental standards and regulations at all times

Technical/Professional Knowledge and Skills

High level of engineering skill and knowledge.

Understanding of Clarke Energy products and markets.

Gas safe registered

IT skills.

Basic coaching skills

Recruitment and succession requirements

Essential

High level of engineering skill with a minimum of 3-5 years service engineering experience.

Electrical and mechanical engineering knowledge.

Willing to travel extensively and work alone.

Willing to work long and unsociable hours, and work away from home when required.

Electrical or Mechanical qualification background.

Apprentice served engineer.

Gas safe registered.

Reasonable level of IT skills.

Excellent technical skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.

Experience of industrial gas or diesel reciprocating engines. Knowledge of Jenbacher gas engines will be an advantage.

Strong communication and customer service skills.CV

Ability to work independently and travel frequently.

Desirable

Gas engine knowledge and experience.
