Job Description

About the Role

We’re looking for a field based Area Manager to lead and grow a team of Field Sales Associates across the South of Dublin.

This is a field-based leadership role for a hands-on, motivated sales professional with experience managing independent or self-employed sales teams. You’ll drive regional performance by recruiting, coaching, and inspiring your team to deliver outstanding results and exceptional merchant experiences.

Your focus will be to accelerate growth in one of Ireland’s most commercially dynamic regions, combining dense SME zones, vibrant hospitality markets, and diverse local business ecosystems.

Your Mission

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 8-12 freelance field sales associates through joint field visits, regular feedback, and structured performance routines
  • Recruit and onboard new freelance associates, building a connected team culture that keeps self-employed reps engaged and motivated
  • Drive regional performance across terminal sales, POS register sales, and multi-product referrals in line with the business plan
  • Monitor key sales metrics - including quota attainment, customer acquisition cost, and sales cycle length - to guide decisions and improve results
  • Build a connected, motivated team culture that keeps associates engaged and aligned with SumUp's values

About You

  • Proven background in field sales - ideally in fintech, merchant services, utilities, or similar industries.
  • Hands-on field sales experience with strong commercial and leadership acumen.
  • Excellent communication, motivation, and coaching skills, with a track record of driving performance remotely.
  • Confident using data and KPIs to guide decisions and optimise results.
  • Self-driven and adaptable, able to manage a wide geographical area and balance team support with strategic growth.

Why You’ll Love It Here

  • Competitive salary & travel allowances.
  • 25 days paid leave, plus bank holidays and special leaves
  • Well-being support: health insurance for you and your family, and subsidised gym membership when you stay active
  • Financial growth: retirement savings match - SumUp tops your contributions up to 5%
  • 1-month sabbatical after 3 years of service
  • Referral Bonus: earn additional rewards by referring talented individuals to join the SumUp team
  • Opportunity to work with a truly global, multicultural team from our homely Dublin hub just steps from Harcourt Street Luas and charming Iveagh Gardens.

What Success Looks Like

In your first 90 days, you will:

  • Manage & grow a team of high-performing Field Sales Associates.
  • Establish clear performance routines, communication rhythms, and development plans.
  • Drive regional growth across merchant acquisition, activation, and multi-product sales.
