JOB DESCRIPTION

Fox News is looking for an experienced Field Photographer to join our Los Angeles Bureau. In this role, you will cover breaking news and planned events domestically and internationally, collaborating with photographers, field technicians, satellite truck operators, engineers, producers, and reporters. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently in fast-moving breaking-news environments, including protests, rallies, civil unrest, and conflict zones, using traditional ENG cameras. You must also be comfortable supporting high-end, multi-camera productions with full-frame cinematic cameras and professional lighting techniques. This physically demanding position requires long hours, extensive travel, weekend availability, and the ability to safely lift and transport heavy equipment.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate Sony ENG broadcast and cine cameras and manage file-based workflows
  • Edit using Adobe Premiere
  • Lead multi-camera and full-frame camera assignments
  • Configure audio for single and multiple camera set-ups
  • Operate LiveU and Starlink transmission systems
  • Safely operate company-owned and rental vehicles

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • 5+ years of professional field photography experience
  • Strong video photography and non-linear editing experience
  • Advanced lighting skills, including experience with long format shoots
  • Working knowledge of field audio mixers and multi-camera audio routing
  • Familiarity with streaming technologies and satellite newsgathering vehicles
  • Willingness to train on satellite-camera crew vehicles and larger vehicles
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure breaking-news environment
  • Flexibility to work across bureau, shooting, editing, and satellite-truck operations as needed
  • Availability to travel extensively and deploy on short notice for a 24-hour news operation, including overtime and weekends
  • A valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and valid passport; CDL preferred

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $45.00-65.00 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
