Job Description
Our client, a major oil and gas transportation company, is currently seeking a
Pipeline Operator to join their busy Operations team in the Sturgeon County, Alberta area for Summer coverage. The Pipeline operator will operate pipeline assets including, but not limited to, valve manifolds, pig launchers and receivers, compressor stations, dehydration units, amine process plants, and control and pump stations. Candidates need to reside within 60kms of Sturgeon County. This position is expected to last 4 months.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Provide safe and efficient operations and maintaining Pump stations, LACT's, and other field block valves
• Complete proactive field inspections
• Identify abnormal operating conditions
• Utilize computer maintenance program and work orders
• Perform pipeline pigging 3" to 42"
• Product sampling
• Housekeeping of sites
• Perform safe work permits
• Some travel may be required
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience as a Production Field/Pipeline Operator
- Previous related oil, industrial or pipeline experience required
- Must have valid safety tickets (H2S, First Aid)
- A disciplined work ethic and ability to take initiative
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Capable of working in both a team and individual environment
- Valid class 5 license (NO GDL)
- Capable of passing pre-hire Drug and Alcohol screening.
