
Job Purpose:
Weatherford have an exciting opportunity for experienced Field Operators to join the Artificial Lift Systems (ALS) Team in Odessa, Texas.
The Field Operator II is responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of artificial lift equipment at customer well sites. Working under limited supervision, the Field Operator II provides technical field support while ensuring safe work practices, operational efficiency, and high-quality customer service. This position requires regular travel to customer locations and the ability to work in varying weather and field conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Install, commission, inspect, maintain, and repair artificial lift systems and associated equipment.
Perform routine preventative maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues to minimize downtime.
Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability and efficiency.
Complete field service reports, maintenance records, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
Follow all company, customer, and regulatory health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
Operate company vehicles, tools, and equipment safely and responsibly.
Communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, and team members regarding equipment status and operational needs.
Assist with equipment loading, unloading, inventory control, and shop activities as required.
Participate in on-call rotations and respond to customer service requests outside normal working hours when necessary.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain a high standard of workmanship.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training is preferred.
Previous oilfield service or mechanical field experience, preferably with artificial lift systems.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and work instructions.
Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation.
Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work flexible hours, including on-call shifts, and travel to remote locations as required.
Qualifications & Experience Preferred:
Experience working with pumping units and artificial lift equipment in oilfield operations.
Knowledge of oilfield safety standards and industry best practices.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced field environment.
Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and work for extended periods in outdoor environments.
Comfortable working at heights and around heavy industrial equipment.
Ability to work in extreme weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and dust.
Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
