Job Description

Job Purpose

The Field Operator I – Tubular Running Services (TRS) is responsible for supporting the safe, efficient, and reliable execution of TRS operations at customer drilling locations. Working under the supervision of experienced TRS personnel, the incumbent assists with the preparation, rig-up, operation, maintenance, and rig-down of TRS equipment used during casing and tubing running operations. The role ensures compliance with Weatherford's operational procedures, quality standards, and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements while developing the technical competencies required for career progression within the TRS product line.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation, inspection, rig-up, operation, and rig-down of Tubular Running Services (TRS) equipment during casing and tubing running operations.
  • Support senior TRS personnel in delivering safe and efficient field operations in accordance with Weatherford procedures and customer requirements.
  • Assist with the operation of casing running tools, hydraulic equipment, power tongs, torque-turn systems, and other TRS equipment under supervision.
  • Perform equipment cleaning, inspection, preventive maintenance, and basic repairs as directed.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained, stored, and prepared for mobilization.
  • Assist in loading, unloading, transporting, and handling TRS equipment safely.
  • Participate in pre-job planning, toolbox talks, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and risk assessments.
  • Comply with all Weatherford HSE policies, customer safety requirements, and local regulatory standards.
  • Immediately report equipment defects, hazards, incidents, and near misses to the supervisor.
  • Complete operational checklists, maintenance records, and field documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Support warehouse, workshop, and yard activities as required.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards at customer locations, workshops, and operational facilities.
  • Participate in technical training and competency development programs to build proficiency in TRS equipment and field operations.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with customers and colleagues while representing Weatherford in the field.
  • Perform other operational duties as assigned by the TRS Supervisor or Operations Supervisor.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, Technical Diploma, or equivalent qualification.
  • Technical training in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • 0–2 years of experience in oilfield services, drilling operations, mechanical maintenance, or industrial operations.
  • Previous experience on drilling rigs or exposure to Tubular Running Services (TRS) is an advantage but not essential.
  • Valid H2S, Basic First Aid, BOSIET (for offshore assignments), or other applicable industry certifications are preferred.
  • Willingness to work on offshore and onshore drilling rigs under rotational schedules.

Skills

  • Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to safely use hand and power tools.
  • Basic understanding of drilling operations and tubular running activities is an advantage.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures, work instructions, and technical guidance.
  • Willingness to learn the operation of TRS equipment, including casing running tools, hydraulic systems, power tongs, and torque-turn equipment.
  • Strong commitment to Health, Safety, Environment (HSE), and quality standards.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Physical fitness to perform manual tasks in demanding field environments.
  • Basic computer skills for completing operational documentation and training requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to continuously develop technical competencies.
