Reporting to the Market Access Senior Director, the Field Market Access Senior Manager is responsible for developing and executing regional market access strategies across assigned regions to support reimbursement preparedness, regional access planning and successful implementation of market access objectives.
The role serves as the primary regional market access interface between the company and regional healthcare stakeholders, providing insights into regional healthcare priorities, access pathways, assessment frameworks and policy developments that may impact patient access.
Working closely with Market Access Senior Director, Medical Affairs, Commercial, the Field Market Access Senior Manager contributes to access planning, stakeholder understanding, regional intelligence generation and implementation readiness throughout the product lifecycle.
This position requires a strong understanding of the Spanish healthcare environment, regional decision-making processes, reimbursement frameworks and healthcare policy dynamics, together with the ability to operate independently while collaborating effectively across cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Regional Stakeholder Engagement
Develop and maintain relationships with regional healthcare stakeholders, including health authorities, evaluation bodies, healthcare managers, hospital decision-makers and other relevant stakeholders.
Establish a deep understanding of regional healthcare priorities, decision-making processes and access environments.
Represent the company in compliant interactions related to market access objectives.
Identify opportunities and challenges that may influence access and implementation.
2. Market Access Strategy & Reimbursement Preparedness
Contribute regional insights and intelligence to support national market access strategy.
Monitor regional perspectives relevant to reimbursement, healthcare policy and access decision-making.
Identify potential access barriers and implementation considerations.
Support preparation for key market access milestones through stakeholder mapping and environmental analysis.
Provide recommendations to strengthen access planning and value communication.
3. Regional Access Planning & Implementation
Map regional access pathways, evaluation processes and implementation requirements.
Develop regional access plans aligned with national objectives.
Support implementation of reimbursement decisions at regional and local levels.
Facilitate understanding of regional adoption processes and potential barriers.
Contribute to reducing variability in patient access across regions.
4. Policy Monitoring & Business Insights
Monitor healthcare policy, funding frameworks and access-related developments across assigned regions.
Analyze trends and assess their potential impact on market access strategy.
Generate actionable insights and recommendations for internal stakeholders.
Contribute to launch readiness, forecasting and business planning activities.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate closely with Market Access Senior Director, Medical Affairs, Commercial at local and European level.
Co-develop and maintain localized territory account plans in close partnership with Key Account Managers (KAMs) and Territory Managers (TMs), ensuring a seamless, compliant, and aligned approach to institutional accounts while supporting the execution of regional and national access strategies.
Ensure alignment between national and regional market access priorities.
Support development of stakeholder engagement strategies and access initiatives.
Provide internal education on regional healthcare systems and access dynamics.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
University degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, Health Economics, Public Health, Business Administration or related field.
Advanced qualification in Health Economics, Market Access, Healthcare Management or Public Policy is desirable.
Experience
7–10 years of experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
Significant experience in Market Access, Pricing & Reimbursement, Health Policy or related functions.
Proven experience engaging with regional healthcare stakeholders within Spain.
Experience supporting reimbursement, healthcare policy or access-related initiatives.
Knowledge & Competencies
Strong understanding of the Spanish healthcare system and regional healthcare structures.
Knowledge of market access, reimbursement and healthcare decision-making processes.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
Strategic mindset with strong analytical capabilities.
Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and matrix environment.
Language and Travel
Native Spanish and fluent English. Proficiency in other official languages of Spain is a plus.
Willingness to travel across the assigned territory
