Project Overview:

The Project is a greenfield mining, process, material handling and ship loading project with a focus on sustaining production, minimise environmental impacts, strengthen long-term relationships with neighbouring communities and foster local economic development.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will work with the project team to prepare schedule data for proposals or contract negotiations. You will apply established unit job hour and pricing data, perform schedule integrations, prepare work logic, identify restraints and potential impacts, develop recovery plans, and evaluate subcontractor schedules for improvements. You will be instrumental in ensuring projects stay on track and on time.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Manages planning activities within a project, including Level 3 and Level 4 schedules
  • Evaluates subcontractor schedules for required workarounds or potential schedule improvements
  • Identifies schedule trends for management attention
  • Analyses data to provide innovative solutions to scheduling challenges
  • Ensures schedule updates are completed in time to support project reporting requirements
  • Supports project organizational and administrative activities
  • Evaluate project progress to ensure that it is meeting budgetary and deadline objectives.
  • Monitor project performance and proactively identify schedule risks, delays and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support project controls, forecasting and reporting activities.
  • Manage resource and commodity load schedules to provide accurate forecasting and reporting.
  • Maintains open communications with other organizations to support schedule maintenance and reporting

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Project/Construction Management or related fields and 10+ years of relevant experience; or 14+ years of relevant work experience.
  • High level of proficiency with Primavera P6 and MS Suite.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in senior planning and scheduling roles within construction projects in resource/energy sector.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, methodologies and project delivery.
  • Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends
  • Follows processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
  • Acts as advisor and mentor to subordinate(s) to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems
  • Ability to prepare accurate, detailed schedules and reports to meet strict project deadlines. Proven experience in developing and managing site-based project schedules.
  • Develops and administers schedules, performance requirements; may have budget requirements
  • Recognizes that erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results will add to costs and may impact the short-term goals of the organization
