ABOUT THE JOB:

The Field Installer II is an experienced field technician responsible for installing, dismantling, loading, unloading, and safely handling Clearspan structures and related components at customer sites and branch locations. This role applies prior Clearspan or temporary structure experience to support site preparation, layout, structure assembly, fabric installation, anchoring, equipment handling, and field documentation with limited training beyond WillScot-specific processes, systems, and safety standards.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Install and dismantle Clearspan structures, including frame components, fabric systems, anchoring, tensioning hardware, and related accessories, with limited supervision and in accordance with manufacturer specifications, site conditions, and supervisor direction.
  • Identify, organize, stage, load, secure, unload, and maintain structure materials and components, including beams, rafters, purlins, uprights, stakes, anchors, tensioning hardware, and keder systems, to support accurate inventory counts and prevent damage during transit.
  • Install, dismantle, and support deployment of Clearspan structures, accessories, and approved Value Added Products (VAPS) in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company standards.
  • Perform site layout and preparation using measuring tools, basic construction methods, installation drawings or instructions, and supervisor guidance to support safe, efficient installation and removal of Clearspan structures.
  • Operate approved hand tools and powered equipment, such as drills, ratchets, wrenches, impact drivers, forklifts, manlifts, boom lifts, and stake drivers, only as trained, certified, and authorized.
  • Safely operate forklifts, telehandlers, manlifts, boom lifts, stake drivers, and other approved equipment required for structure installation and dismantling while maintaining required operator certifications and authorization cards.
  • Apply established safety procedures, jobsite requirements, transportation guidelines, and direction from supervisors, warehouse, logistics, sales, and field operations teams to complete work accurately, safely, and on schedule while supporting on-time, in-full delivery and return expectations.
  • Complete required work orders, service orders, checklists, site documentation, and related field updates through company-approved systems or applications to support accurate job reporting and customer service follow-up.
  • Use prior Clearspan experience to anticipate common installation challenges, identify component or site-readiness issues, and escalate concerns promptly to the appropriate leader without assuming supervisory authority.
  • Serve as a reliable field resource for less-experienced team members by modeling safe work practices, proper component handling, and WillScot jobsite expectations, without direct supervisory responsibility.
  • Lead assigned crew activities and execute installation plans independently when directed by project leadership or when working in smaller split-team environments.
  • Maintain the proper working condition, cleanliness, organization, and security of assigned tools, equipment, vehicles, and materials used to perform Clearspan setup, service, and removal activities.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal teams, contractors, customers, and branch personnel while representing WillScot professionally at jobsites and customer locations.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One to three years of experience installing, dismantling, or servicing Clearspan structures, temporary structures, tent structures, or comparable field-installed structures required.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform structure setup, takedown, material handling, and jobsite support activities with limited training beyond WillScot-specific processes, systems, and safety standards.
  • Construction, equipment rental, field service, installation, or related trade experience preferred.
  • Experience working independently in a fast-paced field environment and coordinating with customers, contractors, shop personnel, sales teams, and co-workers is preferred.

Required Skills:

  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; proficient hand tool use; ability to follow instructions, implement feedback, and work safely in a field environment with limited day-to-day direction.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve routine field installation challenges involving structure components, equipment, layout, anchoring systems, and site conditions.
  • Working knowledge of Clearspan or comparable temporary structure components, assembly sequences, fabric installation, tensioning, securing, anchoring methods, and material handling requirements.
  • Must maintain all required operator cards, certifications, and site-specific equipment authorizations necessary to perform assigned work.
  • Ability to complete required work orders, service orders, checklists, and field documentation using company-approved systems or applications.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with customers, contractors, sales teams, branch personnel, shop teams, and co-workers.
  • Ability to recognize common installation, component, site-readiness, safety, and logistics issues and escalate appropriately.
  • Ability to comply with jobsite safety requirements, PPE standards, hazard awareness practices, lift/equipment safety procedures, fall protection requirements, and applicable OSHA, DOT, and company safety policies.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain rigging, fall protection, lift operation, and other required safety certifications.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card if required for customer sites, port access, or project-specific assignments.
  • Must comply with all company drug-free workplace policies and customer site requirements.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with construction, equipment rental, field service, industrial tent installation, or temporary structure installation in customer-facing jobsite environments.
  • Current or prior forklift, manlift, boom lift, OSHA, fall protection, or other required safety certifications preferred; ability to obtain company-required certifications within the timeframe established by WillScot required.
