Datacolor is actively seeking a talented Field hardware technician to join our global workforce.

Provide on-site technical service, diagnostics, repair, and support for Datacolor hardware and software solutions, ensuring optimal instrument performance and customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This role will perform, but is not limited to the following responsibilities:

  • Diagnosing hardware and software problems involving connectivity, function and performance of instruments and their components by evaluating and analysing the symptoms and using diagnostic software
  • Solve problems, repair and maintain instruments at customers site
  • Research required information using available resources
  • Submit certification data for further processing
    • PM Basic (Certificate)
    • PM Plus (Certificate + spare parts)
    • Colorcheck (Official iso certification)
    • Calibration service (Colorcheck + White Tile)
  • Interact with customers in an appropriate manner to provide quotes & obtain payment information and provide problem resolution feedback
  • Follow up and make scheduled call backs to customers where necessary
  • Maintain customer relationships
  • Provide training & support as required for service partners within LAM
  • Redirect problems to appropriate support resources
  • Keep inventory of used materials
  • Monitor and seek to meet set KPI goals
  • Detect upselling opportunities
  • Receive service requests from system
  • Compose a schedule from requests and meet confirmed commit dates
  • Train on new product releases and advanced servicing techniques
  • Keep proper administration in SalesForce according to standard processes and procedures
    • Document problems
    • Compose orders
    • Register service requests
    • Register test results from troubleshooting
  • Must maintain up to date knowledge on all Datacolor instruments and in addition possess working knowledge of:
    • Spectro Auditor software
    • Datacolor Tools QC software
    • Windows MS Office applications
    • SalesForce

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • 1-6 years’ experience in maintaining and repairing lab instruments. Optical knowledge is a plus.
  • Proficient in Windows Software, working knowledge of PC (Microsoft Office, Windows).
  • Technical education preferred. (Electronics - Electro Mechanical)
  • Must be a team player and capable of working independently.
  • Additional Languages: English required, Spanish and other languages are a plus.
  • Willingness to engage in frequent travel, must have reliable vehicle to drive to customer sites
  • Be able to travel to locations within Brazil primarily, may also require occasional travel to other countries within LAM

This role is based in Brazil and is a remote or hybrid role in line with current company policy.

Salary Range:

Total compensation budget monthly of BRL5,000 - BRL10,000.

However, in exceptional cases where an external candidate possesses significantly higher experience, credentials, or expertise than expected, Datacolor may consider offering a salary or rate towards the upper end of the range.
