Job Title :: FESTD1 Field Estimator 1 (Distribution)

Location :: Jonesboro GA 30236 (Onsite)

Contract :: 12+ Months

Skills and Responsibilities

· ADistributionFieldEstimatorisacriticalrolein the energy and utility industry responsible forassessingfieldconditionsandgatheringdatatoestimate the cost and feasibility of projectsrelatedtoelectricalpowerdistributionsystems. This position involves conducting on-site inspections, collaborating with engineering teams, and providing accurate estimates for distributionprojects.

· Belowisageneral of the typical responsibilities andqualificationsforaDistributionFieldEstimator:Responsibilities: Field Inspections: Conductsite visits to assess the current conditions ofelectricaldistributionsystems,includingpoles, wires,transformers,andrelatedequipment.

· DataCollection:Gatherdetailedinformation and measurements about the existing infrastructure,suchasequipment specifications, materials, and dimensions.Documentation: Maintain accurate records of field observations and measurements. Createdetailed reports and sketches of distributionsystem components.

· Cost Estimation: Collaborate with engineers and project managers to estimate the cost of repair, maintenance, upgrades, or new installations basedonfielddataandprojectrequirements.

· Material and Labor Assessment: Determine the quantities of materials and labor hours required for distribution projects. Obtain pricing information for materials from suppliers. Budget Development: Contribute to the creation of project budgets by providing accurate cost estimates. Ensure that budgets align with project goals and financial constraints. Vendor Coordination: Work with vendors and suppliers to obtain quotes for materials and equipment needed for distribution projects.

· Negotiate pricing and delivery schedules. SafetyCompliance: Ensure that field inspections and estimationsadheretosafetyprotocols,industry standards, and regulatory requirements. DataAnalysis:Analyzefielddataandcostestimates toidentifyareasforcostoptimizationand efficiency improvements. Reporting: Generatedetailedreportsandcostanalysissummariestocommunicatefindingsandrecommendations toprojectstakeholders.Ǫualifications:

· Education:Ahighschooldiplomaorequivalent istypicallyrequired.Somepositionsmayprefer candidateswithanassociatedegreeorrelevant courseworkinelectricalengineeringtechnology or a related field. Experience: Entry-levelpositionsmaynotrequirepriorexperience,butrelevantexperienceinfieldinspections, electrical systems, or construction is a plus.

· TechnicalSkills:Basicknowledgeofelectricaldistributionsystems,fieldinspection

Techniques , and construction processes. Familiarity with measurement tools and equipment. Math Skills: Strong mathematicalandanalyticalskillsareessentialforaccuratelyestimatingprojectcostsandquantities.

· ComputerSkills:Proficiencyinusingsoftwaretoolsfordatacollection,reporting,andbasic cost estimation. Knowledge of geographic information systems (GIS) may be advantageous.Communication:Effective communication skills to interact with projectteams, vendors, and suppliers, as well as topresent field inspection findings and cost estimates.SafetyAwareness:Acommitmenttosafety protocols and procedures in electrical distributionandfieldwork.

· Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage fielddata,documentation,andproject-related information. Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new field inspection techniques, software tools, and industry standards. A Distribution Field Estimator plays a vital role in accurately assessing the condition and cost of distribution projects, contributing to the successful planning and execution of electrical distribution systems. Specific responsibilities and qualifications may vary depending on the employer and the complexity of the distribution projects.
