Client: Maharashtra State Transmission Utility (MSTU)
Location: Washi Maharashtra
Employment Type: Fixed-Term Contract (22 Months)

About the Role

SMEC India is seeking a qualified Field Engineer (Electrical) to support the Independent Engineer services for the MSTU Saswad 400/220/132 kV AIS Substation Project The selected candidate will assist in site supervision, quality assurance, progress monitoring, and coordination with the client and contractor to ensure successful execution of the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day electrical construction activities at the project site.

  • Monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.

  • Inspect materials, equipment, and workmanship to ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.

  • Witness testing and commissioning activities of electrical systems and equipment.

  • Maintain site records, inspection reports, and progress documentation.

  • Coordinate with the Independent Engineer, client, contractor, and other stakeholders on technical and project-related matters.

  • Identify construction issues and support timely resolution to avoid project delays.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, statutory regulations, and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements.

  • Assist in preparing progress reports, site observations, and technical documentation.

Qualification

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.

Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in construction supervision or execution of EHV/HV substations, transmission, or power infrastructure projects

  • Experience in AIS/GIS substation projects will be preferred.

  • Knowledge of testing and commissioning activities is desirable.

Skills & Competencies

  • Knowledge of electrical construction practices and quality standards.

  • Familiarity with relevant Indian Standards and electrical safety regulations.

  • Good communication and coordination skills.

  • Ability to prepare technical reports and maintain project documentation.

  • Proficiency in MS Offi
