mimic is a venture-backed deep tech robotics & AI company building physical AI systems for industrial deployment. Our platform combines dexterous robotic hands with cutting-edge AI trained on real-world human observations, enabling complex manual tasks to be automated in production environments and helping address global labor shortages. As a Field Engineer, you will own the deployment, uptime, and operational performance of mimic robotic stations at customer sites. This includes debugging any issues occurring on-site, identifying problems and fixing them to ensure station uptime. Responsibilities
Set up robot stations on-site during customer deployments
Debug on-site software & systems issues around robot arms, data collection tools and the mimic software stack under linux, with the help of debugging tools
Feed field learnings back into engineering and product
Work closely with AI team to reproduce and analyze failure cases
Solve technical problems in time-sensitive situations in a calm and coordinated manner
Serve as the primary technical contact on-site, communicating clearly and professionally with customers
Improve existing station setup and maintenance processes
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, or a related technical field
Experience integrating or deploying industrial robotic arms (e.g., UR, KUKA, FANUC, ABB or similar)
Comfortable to work and debug on linux environments
Relevant experience in deploying complex systems in a customer context
Strong problem solving and debugging skills
Excellent communication skills in English (German is a plus)
Willingness to travel for on-site deployments and customer support
Driving License (B)

Experience working with industrial protocols and PLCs
