We are looking for an inspirational and energetic Field Education Coordinator who believes that social work leads to a more equitable world.

Are you passionate about shaping the next generation of social work professionals? Join us as a Field Education Coordinator in the Discipline of Social Work and play a pivotal role in enhancing the field education experience for our students.

As a key member of our team, you will collaborate closely with the National Field Education Academic Lead, the National Placement Unit, and a network of social work students, agency-based staff, and external student supervisors to ensure high-quality field education placements

Field Education Development and Delivery:

  • Support pre-placement planning, student allocations, and compliance with ASWEAS standards.
  • Lead fortnightly Field Education Seminars and pre-placement briefings.
  • Assist with training and development for Field Educators and Liaison Officers.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve placement challenges and provide external supervision as needed.

Academic Liaison Support:

  • Oversee placement progress for 20 – 30 students per trimester.
  • Maintain communication with students and agencies, and provide ongoing support.
  • Review and provide feedback on student academic work and address concerns in consultation with the National Academic Lead.

Program Support:

  • Assist in evaluating and improving the Field Education program.
  • Develop and maintain industry partnerships focused on social justice.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years full-time post-qualifying practice experience or its part-time equivalent.
  • Eligibility for full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of current Australian Social Work Education and Accreditation Standards (ASWEAS).
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional education.
  • Understanding of Workplace Occupational Health and Safety policies and processes.
