Job Description

Renison University College, affiliated with the University of Waterloo, acknowledges that we live and work on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Renison invites applications for a part-time, definite term contract position of Field Education Coordinator (20 hours per week) and the salary range is: $33,353.67 and $37,747,50 Per annum. This position is open to qualified candidates who are legally entitled to work in Canada.

The School of Social Work prepares social work practitioners through an accessible and inclusive curriculum, at both baccalaureate and master’s levels, in a learning environment that fosters caring and competent social work practice within regional, national and international contexts and embraces principles of justice, equality and respect for diversity.

Job Opportunity:

This role requires an individual to support the delivery of field education at the Master level in accordance with CASWE accreditation standards, university policies and guidelines. This individual will participate in the coordination of all aspects of the field placement process in the MSW program within the School of Social Work.

Additionally, the incumbent will represent Renison in a manner consistent with the values, goals, and strategic directions of the University College.

Qualifications

Education:

  • MSW degree
  • Registration with OCSWSSW and OASW

Experience:

  • Minimum of two years of social work practice, teaching, or administration in the field of Social Work.

Requirements/Skills:

  • Professional, respectful and strongly demonstrates Social Work values and the CASW Code of Ethics
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, including the ability to successfully work with both internal and external contacts
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills, and a strong ability to analyze complex situations
  • Ability to balance competing demands and manage priorities
  • Highly detail oriented, with an aptitude for accuracy
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and online learning tools
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
