Purpose
Job Duties/Responsibilities
1. Responsible for the identification of safety hazards, the elimination/mitigation of hazards on projects, assist with development of project scopes, supports development of project estimates, development of construction sequence plans, development of project schedules, performing constructability review, tracking/receiving materials and equipment, coordination of schedules, outage identification/coordination, deficiency resolution, quality assurance, issue resolution, and closure of projects.
2. Be able to plan or lay out working details with little to no supervision, with responsibility for results, must be willing and able to lead internal and contract crews to perform difficult and responsible electrical and mechanical tasks involved in the construction, operation, maintenance and repair of transmission and distribution lines substations, transformer racks, transformer vaults, underground systems and other equipment, and be qualified to do the following and related work
as assigned
3. Ensure the completion of required project tasks, performing field observations, confirming progress in alignment with project schedule, performing QA/QC, and completing as-builts. Leads the resolution of field construction problems in coordination with Construction Engineer and project team.
4. Coordinate material orders and deliveries, equipment staging and set-up, jobsite readiness, and switching. Assist with preparing site-specific hazard identification plans. Complete post job audit and ensure jobsite cleanup is complete to include appropriate accounting of excess materials to be either returned to stores or properly moved to another project using appropriate processes and approved procedures. Support local and out of state storm restoration activities.
5. Oversee & monitor the safety and performance of contractors and company personnel ensuring crews work safely, efficiently and effectively. Ensure all facilities and assets are installed and commissioned per the established design and in accordance with company standards and confirm with diagnostic testing or inspection.
6. Provides input for formal construction plans and proactive mitigation plans. Reports variances from process, project scope and/or design that affect safety, quality, cost, schedule, or customer satisfaction.
