Worker Designation – This role is hybrid This means you will be expected to report to one of our Aflac offices located in Columbus,GA, for at least 60% of the work week. You will work from your home (within the continental US) for the remaining portion of the work week. Details of this schedule will be discussed with your leadership.

What does it take to be successful in this role?
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel
- Knowledge of applicable state and agency laws, regulations and reporting requirements related to the administration of field compensation
- Knowledge of the sales hierarchy structure
- Knowledge of Aflac’s products, systems and procedures
- Knowledge of the department’s functional databases and applicable processing codes and terminology
- General understanding of basic accounting concepts and terminology and the ability to perform basic math calculations
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with internal and external customers, to provide information and resolve problems
Education & Experience Required
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Two years of work related experience in field compensation, policy administration, payroll administration or customer service related to the insurance industry
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- As a member of the Field Commissions team, performs moderately complex duties to support the compensation of Aflac’s field force; provides assistance to associates concerning their sales compensation, rewards, incentives and deductions; may assist with orienting, training, or checking the work of other specialists
- Handles state-specific responses to policyholders, payroll accounts, and associates as required by the Department of Insurance; ensures that any additional communication required by specific states between Aflac and the complainant is sent in a timely manner; gathers documentation and conducts basic research for market conduct exams and internal audit inquiries, coordinator support, or contest exceptions
- Compiles and maintains data for large databases and produces reports; completes reissues to correct associates’ commissions; releases information according to policies and procedures; ensures that input data is accurate by auditing at specific intervals and identifying incorrect or outdated information; ensures confidentiality of records; gathers information and solves problems; reviews reports and statements; composes and/or generates letters to request information or confirm action taken; reviews documentation and enters data for accuracy and completeness while maintaining established service/productivity levels and meeting service quality
- Performs data entry to set up associates’ direct deposits; completes all relevant logs, forms, spreadsheets, etc., such as GAII forms or journal vouchers, and prepares all supporting documentation required to process each transaction, request wire transfers, and stop payments; ensures appropriate review and approval are received prior to completing or routing transactions to the next phase for processing
- Reviews department databases, documented procedures, and polices to respond to customer inquiries; provides information and performs research to resolve problems or complete form letters; reviews requests for documents, reports, replacement checks, etc.; confirms eligibility to receive documents and performs the activities necessary to produce and deliver the documents requested; completes monthly transaction and productivity logs; reviews monthly reports to resolve any errors and correct associates’ database information or distributes accordingly
- Establishes standard deductions and other requests from associates; uses documented procedures, program guidelines, and other incentive criteria to determine if the deduction is valid and the associate’s earnings can support the request; uses standard formulas and preestablished percentages and/or dollar values to calculate and/or confirm the deductions; establishes the deductions’ priority; makes the necessary adjustments to the associate’s file and other relevant databases to set up and begin the deductions or incentives; prepares and distributes form letters and other communications to advise associates about new or existing deductions and/or incentives actions
- Reviews daily, monthly, and quarterly transaction reports and statements; researches error transactions, discrepancies, and other report variances; determines the actions necessary to correct errors, associates’ records, and to reconcile accounts; performs all related data entry and prepares all required forms and supporting documents to initiate, stop, or retro payments, adjust and/or reimburse deductions and withholdings; prepares debit /credit requests to reconcile and balance monthly deductions, withholdings, and statement accounts and reports; identifies and suggests solutions to administrative problems; coordinates support from other departments and/or divisions to resolve problems or complete assignments
- Maintains effective and accurate electronic or manual filing systems that provide a quick reference database for transactions and other department activities; prepares documents for imaging; maintains an up-to-date procedures manual that provides accurate step-by-step procedures to accomplish all assigned tasks
- Gathers information for and provides assistance in preparing supporting documentation for the Legal Department on legal issues involving associate compensation to resolve issues related to department operations
- Performs other duties as required
Total Rewards
The salary range for this job is $40,000 - $55,000. This range is specific to the job and salary offers consider a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and peer compensation. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting.
At Aflac, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role to allow for future and continued salary growth, and compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate.
