WAGO Canada, Inc. is seeking a Field Application Specialist (FAS). Under supervision and direction perform various customer service, provide technical support, marketing support and sales support functions for WAGO Advanced Automation products.

This role requires a professional engineer capable of action and with a strong sense of purpose. While primary focus is achievement of sales goals, the Field Application Specialist (FAS) must also drive a balanced approach to assure sustainable and profitable growth in the region. Must be an expert in influencing and energizing people in WAGO sales, channel management, system integrators and distributor organizations. Must also possess sufficient technical and commercial skills to be credible and effective with customers

Experienced Required: BSEE or higher, plus experience in sales and marketing of advanced electronic devices defined as: PLC, PC control systems, factory and machine control systems with a good understanding of automation software.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Application Support
• Responsible for keeping WAGO personnel, customers and distributors up to date on technical application information related to WAGO electronic products.
• Supply engineering support for the WAGO Automation System by ensuring that other control system component suppliers understand the proper application of WAGO products.
• Support and training of distributor application engineers, distributor sales personnel, system integrators, customers, prospects, WAGO employees.
• Perform support and training that enables efficient application of WAGO Automation and Electronic products.
• Present training programs as directed.
• Assist in preparation and presentation of technical training meetings to be scheduled as needed.
• Technical applications support of customers, distributors, system integrators and WAGO Regional Sales Managers and General Manager.

Marketing Program Support
• Provide technical sales support of trade shows and conferences.
• Participate in technical organizations to keep WAGO up-to-date on industry developments as directed.(Example: PTO, ODVA, etc)
• Assist in implementation of marketing programs, promotional activities and other
sales-related activities as directed.

Market Analysis
• Consider target industries for WAGO’s I/O products and make recommendations with market and opportunity rational.
• Maintain knowledge and report on competition and market trends.
• Work with Sales and Marketing to develop and maintain competitive matrix.
• Collect and retain, in a structured manner, incoming enhancement requests.

Sales Support
• Participate in selling situations, including sales calls, shows and events to describe and demonstrate WAGO products as directed.

Additional Responsibilities
• Must be able to travel via airplane.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate an automobile for up to six hours at a time.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs (sample, demos, literature).
• Must be able to travel overnight 0-30% as dictated by assigned territory.
• Travel to corporate headquarters and areas outside of territory will also be required on a periodic basis.
