Opportunity Overview

Teradyne’s Field Applications Team (HDD Group) is seeking a Field Application Engineer based in Manila.

In this role, you will work with cross-functional teams and carry out responsibilities independently to develop effective and practical application solutions.

  • Develop test processes for new products, including test strategy, test software, fixturing, software tools, documentation, training, and process control capabilities
  • Introduce new processes into production and provide technical input for factory operations
  • Review and improve test processes using metrics to evaluate outcomes and identify patterns or trends that inform testing approaches
  • Perform data collection, review results, and conduct software debugging to identify root causes at customer sites
  • Address customer requirements by delivering timely and effective solutions to system-related issues
  • Prepare and share regular reports with field teams and Teradyne engineering teams
  • Collaborate with global engineering and customer service teams
  • Moderate travel required, both within Asia and to the US

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field is preferred
  • Relevant experience in application engineering or electronics engineering within the electrical industry is an advantage
  • Familiarity with semiconductor, HDD, or automation test processes
  • Working knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems, including scripting
  • Experience with automation or tester handlers is an advantage
  • Capability in using statistical software tools and Excel VBA for data handling and reporting
  • Knowledge of electronics and software development/debugging
  • Familiarity with .NET framework, C/C++/C#, and LabVIEW
  • Understanding of networking concepts such as DHCP, TFTP, and TCP/IP socket communication
  • Clear communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrates reliability, accountability, and a structured approach to work
  • Works effectively in a team environment and engages in continuous learning
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
