Organization & Role

The Solutions Engineering Group (SEG) is seeking a Field Applications Engineer – Project Team (Software Specialist) to provide technical leadership in software development for semiconductor test applications. This role focuses on driving the adoption of modern software environments, shaping software architecture, and mentoring engineers as the team transitions to C#‑based test solutions on Teradyne ATE platforms.

• Design and develop scalable, maintainable, and reusable software architectures for semiconductor test applications.
• Lead the transition to a modern C#‑based software environment, defining frameworks, development standards, and best practices.
• Develop, debug, and deploy robust test programs on Teradyne ATE platforms (Example: UltraFLEX, UltraFLEXPlus).
• Provide technical leadership through code reviews, mentoring, and enforcement of software best practices (Example: modular design, unit testing).
• Diagnose complex software and test issues, optimizing solutions for yield, throughput, and runtime performance.
• Work with customers and internal teams to clarify requirements and deliver effective engineering solutions, including on‑site support when required.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams to align software development efforts, architecture direction, and project milestones.
• Manage assigned tasks effectively while adapting to changing project needs.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on C# and .NET frameworks.
• Proficiency in software design patterns, architecture principles, and modern development practices (e.g., unit testing, CI/CD).
• Strong programming skills in C#, with additional experience in VBA or C/C++ being a plus.
• Hands-on experience with Teradyne ATE platforms (Example: UltraFLEX, UltraFLEXPlus) is a strong plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with global teams.
• Willingness to travel as required, up to 30%
