Organization & Role

The Teradyne Memory Field Applications team is seeking a highly motivated and talented Field Application Engineer with strong software development expertise to develop and deploy advanced semiconductor test solutions. This role works closely with customers and cross-functional engineering teams to design, develop, optimize, and support test applications on Teradyne ATE platforms. The ideal candidate has a strong Computer Science background, excellent C++ programming skills, and a passion for solving complex technical challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, debug, and deploy semiconductor test solutions for digital, mixed-signal, and RF devices.
  • Design, develop, and maintain test program software on Teradyne ATE platforms.
  • Write high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code using C++.
  • Collaborate with customers and engineering teams to understand test requirements and develop application solutions.
  • Analyze test performance and identify opportunities to improve test efficiency, coverage, and throughput.
  • Support test solution release to production, including evaluation, correlation, and validation activities.
  • Review and support load board and probe card designs for test applications.
  • Develop innovative techniques and methodologies for semiconductor device characterization and testing.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and recommend effective solutions.
  • Demonstrate tester capabilities and provide technical support during customer evaluations.
  • Deliver customer training, technical presentations, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Build strong technical relationships with customers and provide application expertise.
  • Stay current with semiconductor test technologies, industry trends, and competitive solutions.

Basic Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong software development and programming experience in C++
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming, software debugging, and problem-solving.
  • Experience developing complex software applications in Windows and/or Linux environments.
  • Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering best practices.
  • Experience with semiconductor test, ATE systems, or test program development is preferred.
  • Experience with Teradyne or other semiconductor ATE platforms is preferred.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop practical solutions.
  • Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
  • Knowledge of handler and prober integration is a plus.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Candidates with strong C++ software development expertise are highly preferred.
