High Power Connector Field Application Engineer (FAE)

Molex is seeking a highly skilled High Power Connector, busbars, and cable Field Application Engineer (FAE) to support our innovative electrical interconnect solutions. The FAE will serve as a technical liaison between Molex’s engineering teams, sales, and customers, delivering expert guidance on the design, development, and implementation of high-power connector products. This role is vital in helping customers integrate Molex’s advanced high voltage and high current connector technologies to meet demanding power system requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide in-depth technical support and application expertise on Molex’s portfolio of high power connectors, busbars, and cable interconnect solutions.
  • Partner with customer design and engineering teams to analyze requirements, recommend optimized connector solutions, and assist in system integration.
  • Convert customer ideas and requirements into detailed 3D concepts and models using NX software to facilitate design review and product development.
  • Support new product development and qualification activities by relaying customer insights and field data to product management and R&D teams.
  • Deliver technical presentations, workshops, and training sessions to educate customers and internal teams on Molex’s high power interconnect technologies.
  • Diagnose and resolve application challenges, ensuring reliable product performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate closely with Molex’s global sales, engineering, and manufacturing teams to drive customer engagement and growth in key markets.
  • Stay current with industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies to maintain Molex’s leadership position in high power connectivity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a Field Application Engineer or technical sales engineering role, preferably in high power or high voltage connector applications.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical connector systems, including high current electrical performance, thermal management, and mechanical design.
  • Proven proficiency in 3D engineering software, specifically NX, with experience translating customer ideas into detailed 3D models and concepts.
  • Experience with busbar systems, liquid cooling solutions, and power electronics is highly advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to translate complex technical information effectively.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites and industry events as required.
  • Familiarity with CAD and simulation tools is a plus.

  • Fluent in English and Chinese is highly preferred.
