The Job Profile
The Field Account Manager is responsible for managing a designated sales territory within NSW, including planning and maintaining a regular monthly call cycle with key accounts. The role focuses on presenting new titles, growing backlist sales, identifying new business opportunities, and driving overall sales growth across the territory.
The Job Role
The Field Account Manager is accountable for the day-to-day management of a defined call cycle and sales territory across NSW. This includes delivering monthly and seasonal title presentations to accounts, maintaining regular communication with customers, and providing sales insights and analysis to support business growth and decision-making.
The role requires strong commercial awareness and the ability to analyse sales performance, BookScan data, market trends, and customer feedback to identify opportunities and improve results. The successful candidate will also contribute to monthly reporting on account performance and sell-in activity, while assisting with the planning and management of in-store events and promotional activity with key accounts.
The Candidate Profile
You bring proven experience building and maintaining strong customer relationships, supported by excellent written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative, professional approach. You are comfortable presenting to customers, negotiating outcomes, and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
You are highly organised and commercially minded, with the ability to manage multiple accounts, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
You are confident using technology, sales reporting tools, and market data to support decision-making and drive results. Experience in publishing, retail, or a related industry will be highly regarded, along with a genuine enthusiasm for books and the publishing industry.
