Job Description

Japan Global Financing and Credit trading is seeking a fixed-term business manager, who will be supporting senior management in enabling business, managing risk and control, ensuring regulatory compliance, performing cost control, delivering efficiency improvement, and managing various projects across front to back.

Your key responsibilities

  • Business enablement: Facilitate new product approval, design and deliver process changes to enable new business and product.
  • Risk & control: Coordinate and execute Level 1 controls at first line of defense. Partner with supporting functions to identify, escalate and mitigate operational risks through front to back. Perform risk mitigation/ remediation such as closure of audit issue, incident management, risk assessment, BCP coordination, etc.
  • Regulatory compliance: Partner with Compliance to assess impact of regulatory changes and deliver changes to comply with new regulation. Handle regulatory queries and lead response from business during regulatory inspection.
  • Cost control: Understand and formulate cost budget. Monitor spending against budget. Identify and deliver cost reduction initiatives.
  • Efficiency improvement: Design and deliver operational process improvement partnering with Operations, Compliance, Business Control Unit, regional Business Management in Singapore, etc. Optimize process and resource of DB Center and business administrative function.
  • Project management. Partner with Strats, Finance, Risk & Technology to deliver local and global initiatives for front to back. Define solution, run governance forums at both the working level and senior level across front to back ensuring appropriate coordination and escalation of issues.

Experience/ Qualification

  • 5+ years of experience in financial industry
  • A good understanding of financial instittutions’ set-up, as well as the product suite offered by the business.
  • An understanding of Risk Architecture, T-zero process or T+1 P&L process
  • An understanding of global and local regulation around financial products sales & trading.
  • Ability to present and communicate to both senior and working levels of the organization
  • Run meetings at different levels of the organization and across functions
  • Have a problem solving mindset to solution problems for the business and wider organization
  • A history of leading programs or pieces of works across the organization
  • JSDA class 1 sales representative qualification or equivalent knowledge
  • JSDA Internal Control Manager
  • Fluent in both Japanese and English
  • Good communication and influencing skills
  • A team player willing to help-out where required
  • Educated to University degree level
  • Risk management skills.
