Working in the HFC Boost team

The HFC Boost team is one of the three delivery teams within Wyre and plays a key role in the expansion of our network. We are responsible for the design, coordination and execution of capacity projects, network improvements and relocations related to the Hybrid Fiber-Coax (HFC) network.

Our projects strengthen both the fiber capacity and the coax network, ensuring that our customers can always rely on the best and most reliable network. Together, we make sure Wyre is always ready for the future of connectivity.

Your role as a Fiber Engineer

In the regional fiber design team, we design and optimize a scalable and future-proof fiber network that can grow with tomorrow’s capacity needs.

With our strong local expertise, we proactively detect necessary expansions, support capacity upgrades and fiber moves. By improving the infrastructure with maximum continuity and minimal customer impact in mind, we ensure a reliable and agile network that is ready for the future.

You will join the Regional Fiber Design team, where you support the regional operations and project managers with expert fiber advice. In collaboration with our partners, you deliver accurate designs and impact analyses on time, enabling projects to be executed efficiently, predictably and first time right. We use our expertise to support the operational partner whenever needed to bring complex cases to a successful conclusion.

These designs are based on engineering guidelines, translated into operational reality, and define how solutions must be built by subcontractors.

To bring all this to a successful outcome, we expect creative, analytical and solution-oriented thinking. An eye and heart for documentation is certainly welcome. Communicating with various stakeholders comes naturally to you.

You communicate fluently and clearly in English, and you can express yourself sufficiently in Dutch and/or French. You are strong in organization and planning, have strong analytical skills and can develop structural solutions. You can demonstrate a continuous learning trajectory in which you always mastered the material quickly. You are confident and possess a healthy dose of assertiveness. Networking is in your blood — literally and figuratively.

Our ideal candidate:

• You combine technical depth with overview, a sense of responsibility and eagerness to learn.
• You have at least 3 to 4 years of experience in FTTH design.
• You are willing to be on call up to twice a week. You manage and plan your own schedule.
• You have a bachelor’s degree in telecom, construction engineering or similar, or equivalent experience.
• You have experience with design tools such as GIS.
• You are strong in organization and planning, and structured working is in your DNA; you document carefully.
• You have strong analytical skills and can develop structural solutions.
• You are confident and possess a healthy dose of assertiveness. Dutch: fluent, spoken and written.
• You communicate fluently and clearly in English; Dutch and/or French is a plus.
• You travel easily within your region between Sint-Niklaas and Leuven, as well as to our headquarters in Mechelen.
