Role

As the EMEA Tax Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the Group's tax compliance, reporting, and planning activities across EMEA. Reporting to the Group Tax Director, you will ensure adherence to local and international tax laws, support tax risk management, and contribute to the company's strategic goals, including energy transition initiatives.

Responsibilities

Tax Accounting and Reporting

  • Support local finance for the preparation of income tax reporting package and current/ deferred tax provisions for financial reporting (IFRS IAS 12/ local GAAP), in coordination with global tax and financial control teams.

  • Support the implementation of standardized good practices

  • Monitor and analyse tax positions, ensuring alignment with global tax policies.

Tax Planning & Strategy

  • Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies supporting business initiatives.

  • Support M&A activities, including tax due diligence and post-merger integration.

Corporate Tax Advisory & Compliance

  • As in-house tax counsel, provide guidance to support tax efficient business operations across the EMEA region.

  • Ensure timely and accurate corporate income tax compliance and filings across the EMEA region.

  • Coordinate with local finance teams and external advisors to manage tax audits and inquiries.

Risk Management

  • Identify and mitigate tax risks in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Stay updated on changes in tax legislation, assess their impact on the Group and raise stakeholders’ awareness, as relevant.

KPIs and Metrics

  • Accuracy and timeliness of quarterly and annual income tax reporting process & tax provisions across the EMEA region.
  • Timely completion of tax filings across the EMEA region (target: 100% compliance rate).

  • Successful resolution of tax audits and disputes within established timelines.

  • Identification & implementation of tax planning opportunities.
  • Implementation of ‘Best Practice” processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.

  • Master’s degree in tax law (such as DJCE) with a strong accounting background. Certification as a Tax Advisor, Auditor, and/or additional qualifications such as a CPA, MBA in Finance or a business school degree is a plus.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; an additional European language such as French or German is a plus.

  • Agility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven collaborative skills and team spirit.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
  • More than five years of experience in corporate tax, preferably with a Big Four, a law firm and/or a multinational corporation.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in tax law (such as DJCE) with a strong accounting background. Certification as a Tax Advisor, Auditor, and/or additional qualifications such as a CPA, MBA in Finance or a business school degree is a plus.
