Job Requirements:
Valid Indiana teaching license in the area of secondary Social Studies with the appropriate U.S. History endorsement required. Bachelor's degree required. Upon offer, the applicant must successfully complete and clear a drug screen and all Indiana background check requirements for school personnel as required by state law.
The U.S. History Teacher is responsible for providing engaging, standards-based instruction that develops students' knowledge of United States history, government, citizenship, and historical thinking. The teacher will plan and deliver lessons aligned with Indiana Academic Standards, assess student learning, provide timely feedback, and differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with varying academic abilities and backgrounds.
Responsibilities include developing and implementing effective instructional plans; maintaining a safe, respectful, and productive classroom environment; using a variety of instructional strategies and educational technology; monitoring student progress; communicating with students, families, colleagues, and administrators; participating in professional learning communities; and fulfilling other duties assigned by the high school administration.
