Job Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred. Applicant must meet all requirements to serve as a substitute teacher in the State of Indiana and obtain any required substitute teaching permit. Upon offer, the applicant must successfully complete and clear a drug screen and all Indiana background check requirements for school personnel as required by state law.

The Associate Teacher is an in-house substitute teacher who reports to Frankfort High School each day that school is in session. The Associate Teacher provides classroom coverage for absent teachers and may serve in multiple classrooms or content areas throughout the school day. Responsibilities include implementing teacher-provided lesson plans, maintaining a safe and productive learning environment, supervising students, taking attendance, supporting established classroom procedures, and communicating relevant information to teachers and administrators.

When substitute coverage is not needed, the Associate Teacher may assist with student supervision, academic support, office responsibilities, or other duties assigned by the high school administration.

• Follow lesson plans, classroom procedures, and school policies.
• Maintain appropriate classroom management and student supervision.
• Adapt quickly to changing daily assignments and responsibilities.
• Communicate professionally with students, staff, administrators, and families.
• Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
• Use classroom technology and common educational software.
• Work collaboratively as a dependable member of the Frankfort High School staff.
