Job Description

Are you compassionate, patient, and passionate about empowering others? Join our team as a Disability Support Worker in New Farm, QLD and help people living with disability live the life they choose.

In this role, you will provide person-centred support to a client with Acquired Brain Injury, Schizophrenia and Chronic bowel and bladder incontinence - assisting with daily activities, encouraging independence, and building meaningful connections.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Personal hygiene prompting and supervision

  • Continence management

  • Safe showering and dressing

  • Medication supervision

  • Meal preparation and nutritional monitoring

  • Appointment attendance and community access

  • Transfer and mobility assistance

  • Monitoring of respiratory and physical health status

  • Environmental safety checks

  • Emotional regulation support

  • Routine establishment and wind-down

  • Monitoring of mental state stability

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience supporting clients with:

    • Acquired Brain Injury

    • Schizophrenia

    • Chronic bowel and bladder incontinence

    • Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

  • Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent

  • Current First Aid & CPR certificate

  • Valid Australian Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check/Yellow Card

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
