Job Description

The Co-Group are seeking a compassionate and experienced Support Worker to provide in-home support for children and young people living Intellectual Disability.

This role is ideal for someone who is patient, engaging, and passionate about helping children develop their independence, confidence, and daily living skills within a supportive family environment.

Experience preparing Indian meals and supporting culturally appropriate household routines is highly regarded

The successful candidate will be required to work at the following locations and times:

  • The Ponds – Monday, 4:30pm to 6:30pm
  • Waitara – Wednesday, 3:45pm to 5:45pm
  • Thornleigh – Friday, 10:30am to 1:30pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to children and young people with Autism and Intellectual Disability.
  • Assist with educational activities, including numeracy, phonics, reading, and homework support.
  • Provide personal care assistance as required.
  • Prepare Indian meals and support daily household routines.
  • Facilitate positive engagement and build meaningful relationships with children and their families.
  • Support participants in achieving their individual goals and promoting independence

Requirements
- Valid Driver's Licence
- Access to a comprehensive insured car with 5 seats
- NDIS Module – Quality, Safety & You
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDISWC) for paid employment
- Blue Card (WWCC) for paid employment
- Current First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours using approved techniques.
